CASE-ing the Catty #45 - Hostess section with a slice of cake :)

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop!  We are featuring projects inspired by the Hostess section of the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue (pages 178-181).  You may have come straight from Stasia's cute Halloween project, or started here, but you can work your way around the entire Hop & see the Crew's wonderful projects by following the links in each post.  If you get lost along the way, you can find a complete list of participants on the CTC post.

I was inspired by the tag on page 181.  I like the fact that the image is composed of stamped & raised elements.  I was also inspired by the Sweet Stack Cake Kit that is shown on page 178.  I made a slice of chocolate cake with a watermelon bow & added a flower similar to the one on the top layer of the cake.  I also added a couple of leaves to tie in with the stamped image on my tag.

Emma's awesome project is next.  :)  You can find it by clicking on the image below:-

I had a lot of fun making that cake slice!  Here are some more slices with Mint Macaron trim & spiral flower embellishments.  :)

CASE-ing the Catty #43 - Artistic Expression with a touch of gold!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop!  We are featuring projects inspired by the Artistic Expression section of the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue (pages 111-134).  You may have come straight from Rebecca's awesome "Work of Art" project, or started here, but you can work your way around the entire Hop & see the Crew's wonderful projects by following the links in each post.  If you get lost along the way, you can find a complete list of participants on the CTC post.

Well, I have finally managed to get my project loaded!  Sorry for the delay....  Along with all the other distractions, my camera seems to have gone walkabout, so I had to use my phone for this shot.  :(

Anyhow, here it is:-

My inspiration for this card comes from the pink & gold card on page 126.  Rather than using a stamped background, I let the gold embossed vellum do the work.  I have moved the banner & balloon over to the left & added a fun bow to the balloon using the new gold cord which is in the upcoming Holiday Catalogue.  It was the perfect addition to the tasseled balloon.  :)

The colours I have used are Pool Party for the base card & balloon, Coastal Cabana for the shadows on the balloon & Bermuda Bay for the sentiment, tassel & sequins.  When I stamped the balloon, I used VersaMark ink before I inked the Pool Party, so I could clear emboss the balloon to give it a nice shiny finish.  Both the balloon & banner are popped up on dimensionals.

Here's another (out of focus!) shot from a different angle.  The sequins almost look black!  :|  Hmmm, must go hunt down the camera.....

Monique's pretty project is next.  :)  You can find it by clicking on the image below:-
