CASE-ing the Catty #19 - Buttons & Ribbons

The challenge at CASE-ing the Catty this week is to take inspiration from a project in the Sale-A-Bration catty & to use SAB accessories (or new buttons & ribbons) in your project.

I have taken inspiration from the card at the top of page 14 to use both die-cut & stamped sentiments with an emboss resist shaded background:-

I have kept to a monotone palette of Calypso Coral & White.  The variation in the background colour was achieved using a brayer on the Irresistibly Yours DSP.  I've layered up two "happy" die-cuts to give the sentiment some "substance" then attached the tag using a button & ribbon from the SAB Best Year Ever Accessory Pack, as well as some white baker's twine.  I couldn't resist adding a bit more texture with the adorable pom pom trim.  :)

We hope you can play along with us at CASE-ing the Catty this week, there are so many great projects to be inspired by, as you can see by what my fellow Design Team members have created.  You can check out their fabulous projects & join in the challenge here:-

CASE-ing the Catty #17 - Big Day Shaker!

It's challenge time at CASE-ing the Catty & this week's theme is to:-

CASE a project from the VALENTINE'S section of the Occasions Catalogue

Now this doesn't mean that you must make a Valentine project, just use a design from this section as a springboard for your own project.  I have chosen to make a birthday card, inspired by the shaker on the top right of Page 4:-

I have to admit to being very fond of interactive cards, so this shaker was an ideal choice for me, lol.  There is a mix of old & new products including the sentiments from the SAB set Big Day.  First I stamped with black Memento ink, omitting some of the details of the "celebrate" image, then made a second impression of the "celebrate" banner, which was coloured, fussy cut & popped up on dimensionals.  The following Blendability markers were used for colouring the images - light Daffodil Delight, light Cherry Cobbler, & medium Coastal Cabana.  I also got some nice red Baker's twine by colouring white twine with the light Cherry Cobbler marker.

I wanted a subtle frame beneath the sentiment circle, so I stamped the "Oh, Happy Day" image from the Starburst Sayings set in black Memento ink & die-cut it with the corresponding Starburst framelit.  The "happy birthday" banner was shaped at either end with the Hexagon punch & attached with the coloured twine.  A window sheet, Stacked with Love washi tape & Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay & Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper stars punched from the Confetti Star Border Punch complete the card.
