The Paper Players #201 & Just Add Ink #219

This week I have used both Nance's sketch from The Paper Players & Trish's inspiration challenge from Just Add Ink to create this card:-

Here are the challenges (just click on the picture to go direct to each challenge):-

It's a great layout & I love the navy, yellow, grey & white palette, & especially those navy & white stripes!

I've used some new SU goodies including Hello Honey cardstock (paired with Night of Navy), a Project Life by SU photopolymer stamp to create the dotty stripes, the large rotary stamp to create the "ransom note" style sentiment, the cute itty bitty heart punch & some new Moonlight DSP.

The tee shirt was created by using the new baby onesie die.  I stamped & layered two stripey ones to create the raglan sleeve seams.  Then I enlarged the neck opening by using a 1/2" circle punch.  I trimmed a strip from the bottom of each sleeve, then layered the white onesies onto a navy layer to create the neck & arm trims.  Then I cut off the bottom of the onesies to create a straight edge for the bottom of the tee shirt.  The whole lot has been popped up on dimensionals.

The sentiment strips were attached with glue dots to create a little bit of height off the background DSP.

Thanks for looking!  :)

The Paper Players 200th Challenge - A One Layer Watercolour

Well, I couldn't let this week go by without joining in the celebrations at The Paper Players!  It is their milestone 200th Challenge & each member of the Design Team has chosen a favourite past challenge.  I chose to use both Ann's single layer & Jaydee's CAS with watercolouring to create this little notecard:-

Here are the challenge banners:-

I think one layer cards are the hardest to create, so I challenged myself to work with a single layer of watercolour paper, adding some texture by dry embossing lines on my card front.  I left a section unembossed for the sentiment.  I love the range of colour you can achieve with watercolouring, as opposed to other mediums, & used black, basic grey & smoky slate, as well as new SU colours hello honey & tangelo twist to colour the butterfly.

A big thank you to the Design Team for their fabulous challenges & inspiration each & every week.  It was a huge honour to be able to work alongside you as a Guest Designer for a while! ♥

Ann, Anne Marie, Jaydee, LeAnne, Nance & Sandy - Ladies you are AWESOME!!!!  :)
